About

I played college baseball for the University of Richmond (class of 2002). I do not charge for lessons. I currently coach my son's fort hunt baseball team and believe in building confidence for players through practice on the field and at home. I have coached him since he was 2 and love coaching. Baseball is a very hard sport and by teaching fundamental small changes to their game i believe they can excel and learn great life lessons at the same time. I coach hitting, pitching and fielding. I played 3rd base and 2nd base in college and was the team captain my senior year of college. I can also help high school kids eveluate the best college for them to continue to play baseball.

I love coaching. I love giving kids confidence in themselves and their athletic ability. i believe creating discipline and a rountine that can last a lifetime for students. I want baseball to be their favorite sport and i want them to excel and appreciate the work it takes to get good at baseball and learn to love the work to get better.

Our first lesson with Coach Mike was great. He really helped my son and gave him some great tips that he can work on at home. He gave my son a lot of confidence to want to keep practicing. He was very friendly and encouraging.

    Frequently asked questions

I get down to the basics of hitting, fielding and pitching. I dont like doing radical changes all at once. Baseball is a process. I want to work on first what they do well, and then fine tune where they can improve. I like to film the student and send images so they can review at home. I always give them 2 techniques to work on at home before the next session

If the teacher isnt giving the student confidence and helping them make small adjustments then stop working with the teacher. Every coach should be able to identify the specific skill each player has that is different from another player and work to maxamize that skill
