Zone In Baseball

Dear Athlete,

My name Danny Diaz and I am an accomplished Baseball coach with over twenty five years of playing and coaching experience, guiding and mentoring athletes, helping them to achieve their goals in performance levels and success in the sport of baseball. I am experienced in instructing players regarding new and improved form, performance techniques, and endurance supporting exercise. I am skilled in helping players to nurture their existing abilities while also helping players learn and foster new and beneficial skills. I bring forth a strong devotion to the game of baseball and a love for guiding athletes throughout their athletic journeys.

I began my journey playing kid pitch/little league when I was just seven years old and hit the ground running from there, having the opportunity to play for Capital City Little League and nearly making it to the Little League World Series, such a great experience for a kid. After Little League I moved on in my journey to play travel baseball (RBI, Babe Ruth) playing for great organizations throughout my teenage years (DC Dynasty, Barons, and Headfirst). For High School I attended Woodrow Wilson SH where I dominated as a pitcher and third baseman playing four years on varcity and winning major athletic awards and championships. For College I attended Prince Georges Community College where I became more of a utility player moving around the field playing every position even catcher at times but yet still dominated when at the pitchers position winning first team all region, that tells you about my versatility in being able to coach every aspect of the game. After College I had the opportunity to workout with the San Diego Padres and was invited to other major league combines but missed my window after suffering too many injuries. Although injuries stopped me from playing they didn't keep me from teaching the game and because I never stoped teaching and always stayed active I would one day find myself back on the diamond with a Semi-Pro Baseball team (Chinandega Tigres) where I played for two summers and two undefeated seasons as a pitcher.

I enjoy everything about this game. Baseball teaches you to be flexible and persistent. You learn to know your strengths and play to them as well as know you're weaknesses and work on them. Make a mistake, learn from it, and make adjustments on the next play or at bat. That is what resiliency is all about. Baseball teaches you work ethic and talent and ability are nothing without work ethic. Baseball teaches you how to overcome adversity which is also a big part of life. Baseball teaches humility, how to learn to win with class and lose with dignity to be humble, respect others, and never stop improving. Honestly, what is there not too enjoy about this great game of baseball especially when it teaches growing kids life lessons.
