About
I take the time to work with each student to be sure they are doing the skills properly and if struggling I work with them so they are confident they will be able to act if needed. I believe you should have the confidence to perform if the need arises.
I enjoy meeting and working with different people from all walks of life. I find it rewarding to know I can provide a service to those who need the certification to keep their job as well as working with those who just want to know how.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During class I find out why the student is looking for certification and if they have previously been certified, if this was not discussed prior to class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been CPR certified going back to the late 80s and recently BLS (Basic Life Support) certified as of October 2019.
I have been teaching courses now since August of 2019 and have averaged about 10 classes per month but currently working through another company and not directly with my own clients, as I am working on building my clientele.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is based on what type of class is needed as well as distance traveled if agreed to training. My fees will not be greater than the going rates for American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety and Health Institute. There is a group, returning client or referral discount available.
How did you get started teaching?
I made the decision in 2019 it was time to invest in me and something more rewarding.
I wanted an opportunity to work at my leisure and be able to do in retirment years as well. A way to make a little extra money while helping those who need certification for their jobs or those who just want the skills and knowledge.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with Tattoo artist, nurses, pharmacist, teachers, daycares, fitness personel, high school students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do not look for someone who is just there thinking this is easy money for them and you are not really going to learn anything.
I have come across instructors who show up and do not really teach but passes everyone in the class without performing a skill. You are paying for someone's time and they should not be ending class after 2 hours or less without you doing one skill.
You should work with someone who wants you to feel confident enough to perform the skill should it arise. There are liabilities, suits etc that can arise if you are negligent in any way and if you have not properly demonstrated the skills you should not just be given a certification because you showed up and the instructor really didn't want to teach.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is your fee?
What will I get from the class?
Are you more about the money than actually expecting to teach someone the skills?
How long have you been teaching?
Most important, why did you become an instructor?
