Rob Trek Photography
Even if you've never picked up a camera before, I will help you get started with beginner classes, group photo walks, and individual lessons. I will teach you the fundamentals of photography, show you how to use your camera to get the best results, and host photo walks to interesting places so you can practice and take your photography to the next level.
Nothing makes me happier than showing people that photography doesn't have to be hard.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I often find beginning photographers are not sure where to begin or what to ask. I like to know the student's level of experience in photography so I can better prepare materials and work at their pace.
I will ask the student to be as specific as they can with their questions, send examples and screen shots to help diagnose and clarify their questions.
I will then prepare my own questions, materials, and examples to better explain my answers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked as a professional photographer for over 5 years primarily in architectural and real estate photography. I also teach in-person classes, create online tutorials, and have helped thousands of people all over the world.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Online/virtual meeting starts at $75/hr. In-person tutoring is $100/hr.
What types of students have you worked with?
I primarily work with beginning photographers who may have just bought their first camera or would like to learn digital photography.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I started doing free in-person training at a private school and really enjoyed the interaction with the students. Unfortunately due to recent events, I have had to suspend the classes until further notice.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I strongly suggest reading testimonials and reviews if any. Also, if the teacher offers a free initial consultation, that shows they have confidence in their skillset and it's a great opportunity to see if they will be a good fit for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It's all too easy to see amazing photographs and immediately think there is some trick or specific technique to achieve it. Sometimes there is, but many times it's perseverance and preparedness.
At the same time, try not to overthink it. Just simply have the desire and I will help you the best I can.
