About
I am former professional dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York City. I have performed, taught and choregraphed internationally.
Over the past 20 years, I have trained and coached dancers at all levels and stages of development. A good number have turned professional and most still have a life- long love of dance.
I always start with the fundamentals of proper stance, engagement of turnout and awarness of music and dynamics. I believe studying ballet is about seeking the excellence within oneself and realizing the potential of our minds and bodies in a beautiful way.
I love the art of ballet and the pedagogy of dance. I enjoy helping students of any age or level improve their technique and artistry by focussing on the fundamentals of good clean technique and conveying concepts in ways that make sense to the student.
I understand that people dance for different reasons; it makes my teaching all the more rewarding when I help students connect with their reason for dancing.
