I am currently an undergraduate student at Stanford University and I received my high school education from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Tech (TJHSST). I offer tutoring services for SAT prep, college admission advising and essay editing, AP test course/test prep, TJHSST admission prep, math (Algebra, Statistics, Calculus); history (US history, World history, Gov.); Latin (Latin 1, 2, 3 & AP); and humanities (English, Writing, Grammar).

I am extremely passionate about helping other students discover their own interests in learning and achieving a deeper and more thorough understanding of topics. As a tutor, I establish lesson plans and practice problems based on my student's individual needs to help them grasp a better understanding of concepts that are having difficulty with and to introduce new perspectives in approaching topics.

I highly recommend!! Janice was very thorough and informative. She had many helpful tips to offer, as well as a well-thought-out plan for how to proceed. She is so patient and offers both the chance for students to work things out on their own, and the backstopping they need if they get stuck. She explains things very well and makes them easy to remember. Her experience and knowledge on prepping for the SAT and the Essay portion was exactly what I needed to get a 1540 on the SAT!

After just a few sessions with Janice, I have learned more for SAT Math than I have after spending months on Khan Academy! She understands the content of the SAT very well and offers great ways to answer the problems. Janice helped me right from the start! She would show me the quickest way to reach an answer leaving me more time to think about the harder questions. Even questions I knew how to do, we would work through and she would demonstrate multiple methods of solving. On test day, I would look at a problem and immediately know every possible approach I could take. I finished the test before time was called thanks to his tips and was able to check my answers thoroughly! She had told me what to look out for and where I commonly made errors so I knew exactly which problems to check. I am so grateful to have received her help!

She was a huge help in helping me study for AP Latin. I started off the year struggling tremendously with understanding how I should be approaching the passages in Vergil and Caesar. After a couple of lessons, she not only helped me figure out the reasons behind my struggling sections, but she also helped me raise my grade to an A!!! She is very thorough and makes things interesting and fun. She is very knowledgeable and takes great care in explaining the tiniest details. Very impressive tutor!! Will for sure use again!!!

As someone who took and received 5's on more than 15 AP and Post-AP courses throughout high school, received nearly perfect scores on the SAT, subject tests, and writing section, I have reached a great depth of knowledge and understanding on how to succeed as a student. I am extremely passionate about helping other students discover their own interests in learning and achieving a deeper and more thorough understanding of topics. As a tutor, I establish lesson plans and practice problems based on my student's individual needs to help them grasp a better understanding of concepts that are having difficulty with and to introduce new perspectives in approaching topics.

As someone who took Latin 1 up to AP Latin and received gold medals in the National Latin Exam(NLE) and National Etymology/Vocabulary/Civ Exam, I am very experienced in teaching others how to best approach studying Latin. I have tutored many Latin students throughout the past few years and love sharing my passion in the classics with others!

Going through the college admissions process before and engaging in conversations with college admissions officers, I have gained insight in what top colleges are truly looking for in a student. I offer college admission consulting--not only sharing insightful tips from my own experience, but also advising how a student can craft their own narrative and editing application essays.
