As a novice to music in general and especially composition, Nebal was enthusiastic and willing to start building my knowledge from the ground up. I cant begin to explain how helpful it is to have someone with an artistic vision that inspires me (and the competence to execute that vision) supporting me and teaching me what they know. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A strong foundation is everything. Learn how to hear and write any melody, harmony, rhythm, or sound.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Classically trained composer among the top of his class. Music has been played all over the world in concert halls across Seattle, Chicago, New York, Canada, the UK, Germany, and Finland.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My usual fee is $65/hr. Sliding scale options are available.
What types of students have you worked with?
Experience working with students of all skill levels.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It's less important that the teacher's music matches the sound you want to write in, and more that your teacher knows how to help you develop your own way of making music.
