About this pro

As a student of Game Art and Design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh I learned to create art in a variety of ways. To accompany my art skills I completed the highest level of creative writing classes as well. Proficiencies include the full Adobe CC Suite and traditional drawing skills from 2D animations to fully modeling and texturing in 3DS Max or Maya. I enjoy teaching students online and in person. I'm reliable, efficient, reasonable, realistic and responsive.

I love everything about what I do. Art is a limitless world of exploration and excitement. Watching another individual explore and improve in this space is a dream come true for me. I was very lucky at a young age to be pushed by instructors to master realism, then move on to abstract and digital work. Everything in between interests and excites me.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I analyze where the student is now and where they would like to be as an artist. It's either a hobby or full on passion. I create a specialized class for the individual I'm working with. We work at your pace. Let's get you where you need to be!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was blessed with an instructor in high school that taught me realism and through college I learned over 20 software programs to design and create digital art. I'm fluent in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Premiere Pro after working in them for over 10 years. I currently draw in ink for my Instagram channel, mentor students, and create art for offices in Washington DC.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My standard rate for one on one sessions is $50/hr.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching because I want to help others succeed in an area that always loses funding in local schools. Creativity is more important than knowledge - Einstein.

What types of students have you worked with?

I teach a student in Nigeria who was already a great artist and just needed to be pushed a bit. Now he is becoming a portrait artist and getting better every day. I have also taught abstract painters in the past and currently work in art and design from my home studio daily.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Traveling, hiking and comedy are my other hobbies that I'm infinitely fond of.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would say find the right teacher for you who can move you to the next level quickly. Some art teachers I had were so spacey that it took far too long to get from point A to point B. There is no reason that you can't excel quickly if you practice the techniques taught by your instructor.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Where am I now and where do I want to be with art?
