About
I offer you the opportunity to grow your individual artistic style at your own pace. I love watching my students develop their craft. I give you techniques and ideas that evolve your creativity and allow you to veiw your art from a new perspective. When my students learn a new idea about color theory or dimensional perspective it reminds me of that joyful time when I first learned art 30 years ago. It's fun to know my student has gained the same feeling. I offer individual lessons for one work you may need a little help on, individual art critiques, and weekly lessons for dedicated students. Please let me know if you're interested in getting a quote from me specifically in your initial comments.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I analyze where the student is now and where they would like to be as an artist before we get together. At our first session we jump right into whatever medium the student is interested in. We work at your pace, and I prefer that you do 100% of the creating. I will draw or guide you as needed, but it's best if you learn to control your hand and eye by creating during our time together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I had an instructor that taught me realism for 3 hours a day when I was young. Throughout college I mastered realism and perspective. I'm fluent in Adobe CC after working with it and/or it's programs over 12 years. I currently draw with ink, mentor art students globally, and create art for humans worldwide on TikTok, and privately through commissions. Look me up (@artistaparker or google "artist amanda parker"). Feel free to ask to see my latest and best works over time.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is $50/hour. My art sessions are intended for those who wish to be advanced students or professional artists. Beginners are absolutely welcome, but I encourage you to do a few online tutorials for whatever you are interested in, then come to me for further training and guidance. When you're ready to take your art to a new level please contact me.
How did you get started teaching?
I've spent over 20,000 hours creating art in every form. After creating so much I realized other artists need help "seeing" like an artist. Over time I critiqued students online and watched their skills improve. Eventually I found lessons.com and I have found my true passion of watching other artists succeed with guidance. I'm so excited to share my skills with anyone interested in developing their art. Now that 3 of my students have become professionals I feel my life's work and efforts toward art have been rewarded by seeing them succeed.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from 4 to 84 years old. Each was a pleasure to instruct in different ways. Everyone has their own unique learning style and ability. I welcome beginners who are interested in working hard on improving their art skills, but intermediate to advanced students benefit the most from working with me.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my students won a contest this year after playing around in Photoshop with me. I'm so happy he learned so much that he took first place! Another student sold her first work in October of 2021.. and another just published her first children's book. I'm so proud of these students and can't wait to see what your art journey has in store for you! Definitely reach out to me if you love art and are ready for fun adventures in the world of art.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find the right teacher for you. I've spent over $100,000 on my art education and 30 years of my life heavily involved in the art world. I do not have a master's degree and I'm not a normal teacher. I know art - I know people - and I know how to help people understand what they are not able to see in their work currently. I have taught autistic students and professional artists. My range is vast.. but I typically only work 1 on 1. So, if you're seeking a class or group, then another instructor might work well for you! Just pick whoever you want! Great luck to you in your artistic journey!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Where am I now and where do I want to go with my art? Do I want to sell my art or create for fun? How much time do I have to create?
Some have a few hours a day and others only have 1 hour a week. I work with both types of students.
