About
I have been a news photographer, travel photographer, and photo editor for over 15 years. I have taught photography in over 5 countries, and trained journalists in how to compose, see, and find the best images. I have taught travelers, students, and diplomats. I am willing to work one on one to help you become a better photographer. I am happy to show you how to get better images from a DSLR to an iPhone.
I love shooting, and I love teaching. It is great to see someone advance and improve their visual eye. I enjoy helping people capture that perfect moment from a family event, sporting event, or nature.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to sit down and listen to what the student wants to accomplish. I start with going through their equipment, and then working with them before going into the field to help them improve their eye. I like to follow this up with in the field work in different situations to help them see the photo. If the student wants, I will sit down at the end of the session to go through the pictures and help them edit and improve their final selection of pictures.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional news photographer for 15 years, working with some of the biggest news agencies. I spent 5 years as a photo editor working on major political events, the Olympics, and helping some of the best photographers in the world produce great imagery to tell a story.
