No. I have only done private lessons based on family's budget. This is still new
How did you get started teaching?
I began Volunteering. The I was referred for a job. I also had a great mentor who helped me get a gig. My relationships with people have helped me get here
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked at after school programs. I've done some private training. I've assisted people around me by showing and critiquing.
I learn by doing and then having someone correct and/or show me, extremely visual learner.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure your goals are written down. Although art can be extremely personal and has ties to emotion, it is the technical know how which will help you move forward along with the passion. I can not teach you how or why or when to feel and often we can not control how we feel. We can control what we do. I suggest students take time to write out their goals and direction.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think through as much as they can. This is about them. I am here to teach and assist not do the work. The more thought out and concise the student is the better results. The idea of art sometimes can outweigh the actual "doing" of the art. I am not always happy when I create, I am not always in the mood, I do not have an audience, i enjoy the process.
