I have been a professional artist and photographer for my entire life. I have a degree in PreK-12 art. I taught preschool and middle school. I've taught for approximately 16 years. I can work with your schedule. My teaching style is to be helpful, teach by steps. My experience makes it better for students to ask questions or come to the lesson with suggestions. I am a student-oriented teacher who loves teaching. I can help my students to first learn, add to, and improve their artistic abilities. Students will then have the enjoyment of an artwork or photograph he/she is proud of creating.
I love the arts and photography. I like the creation process and experimenting with new techniques and materials. I love the arts for the way to show personal expression. I enjoy creating art and seeing the final product. Art and photography have been such a huge part of my life, and I want to share that with others in any way possible.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will meet for a first class for one hour to discuss what the student wants to achieve from his/ her class and and time. I will look at student artwork online if possible or have the student email me examples. We will work out days and times that will suit the student and continue from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education. I am licensed to teach PreK-12 students in Virginia. I have 10 years experience in teaching public school art and 6 years experience with preschool students.
