Hello Everybody! My name is Katie Crawford and I teach most concert band instruments, ranging from flute (my primary instrument) all the way to trombone and percussion. I majored in music education at Virginia Tech, and have more recently taught concert bands and jazz bands in the public school systems. I am here to help you along in your music journey, whether it be classical music, modern cover songs on you favorite instrument, music theory, or anything else!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I am here to guide you in the direction you want to go, so I like to get to know you and your music goals first. We can try out classical music, pop covers, take a shot at music theory, etc., and decide where we want to go from there!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Virginia Tech with my bachelor's in Music Education and my Master's in Education, Curriculum and Instruction.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are priced at $30 for 30 minutes or $50 for one hour.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught students of all ages, ranging from kindergarten to high school. I have training in concert band, jazz band, all instruments (woodwinds, brass, percussion), as well as a special interest in music theory and beatbox flute. Let's make some music!!
