I have been teaching for 25 years. I’ve taught touring musicians, beginners, intermediate, and advanced players to play pieces of music for band, auditions, college auditions, and prepared, guitars for studio work.
What I love about teaching is seeing the student reach their goals for performing in mastering the guitar
I guide the students through having them perform their goal songs, in addition to the techniques and études that I show them to help achieve those goals
I think what makes my business stand out is the fact that I am also a performer, and not only a teacher

I give the student direct and practical information that applies to there goals. The information can be applied immediately in a performance setting

Matthew has studied extensively with Berklee School of Music's Joe Stump as well as private music instruction at Towson State University

Jason Richardson (born July 30, 1991) is an American guitarist. He is best known for his work as a guitarist in both Born of Osiris and Chelsea Grin. His playing style is extremely fast and technical. He currently works as both a solo artist and as an official member of All That Remains. He is also a sponsored artist of Ernie Ball Music Man
Matthew has also instructed the Guitarist Daniel Tidwell. Daniel has had millions of Views on YouTube for his playing and released albums world wide.
Matthew has taught the guitarist Scott Hull guitarist for the band Pig Destroyer which is a relapse Records recording artist and has appeared on music television shows and national publications
Matthew has also instructed guitarist Elizabeth Cannon Elizabeth II launched in 2017 and quickly gained respect in DC, performing frequently at many of the city’s most well-known venues, including Black Cat, Hard Rock Café, Pearl Street, Rock and Roll Hotel, Union Stage, and the 9:30 Club.
In 2020, she won The MusicianShip’s 2020 WAMMIE Award for Best Rock Song (“Lonely”), and in 2021 she won the WAMMIE Awards for Best Hard Rock Song (“Bite My Neck”) and Best Rock Artist. Her latest single, “All My Failures,” is the culmination of the artist’s journey to-date, smartly combining honest, heartfelt sentiment with a bumping soundtrack of deep-rooted rock and pop.
When Elizabeth II isn't rockin' in the free world, she teaches guitar lessons at 7DrumCity in Washington DC.
