Mark Paek

I am Mark Paek. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a minor in Green Engineering in 2016. I am a Cybersecurity Analyst and serve in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Signal Officer.

I am very passionate about teaching and mentoring. I have about 17 years of tutoring experience. I've taught students from 4 year olds to 27 year olds. I've taught all school subjects but primarily focus on math (Algebra 1 - Collegiate level engineering math including statistics), English, and the SAT. I've helped students graduate high school and I take pride in helping students get into their dream schools. I most recently helpe a student bring up his Algebra 2 grade from a D- to a b+ in 3 months. I've also helped another student bring her SAT score from 1010 to 1350 in 2 months. The scoring system has changed since I last took the SAT but I scored 2180/2400 on the SAT.

I develop strong relationships with my students so that they are comfortable reaching out to me with any questions/concerns outside of our tutoring sesion to ensure they excel in school/studies.
