About
I'm not just a professional photographer, I'm also a professional teacher. When working with clients, I'm constantly educating them about the process and the expectations.
Since 2012 I've worked as a professional photographer in Fashion, Dance, Action, Cosplay, Real Estate, and Portrait Photography
I love connecting with people and helping them tell their stories. I love drawing ideas and emotions out, playing with character and setting, and telling a single moment of a story.
It's not just about how to use a camera, it's how to make an image, craft a story, build a vision, direct a subject and make a creative identity.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I take a little time to get to know my student's frame of reference and goals. Where are they starting from and where do they want to go. What areas interested them? What modes of thinking do they work best in? What prior knowledge can we bring to the table? What kind of photography sparks their interest?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to my photography experience, I've worked as a theater education specialist for most of my life, teaching acting, movement, stage combat, storytelling, and other related skills.
How did you get started teaching?
After graduating college, I ended up working at a lot of arts programs and summer camps, and found that I really enjoyed teaching. After that I just never really stopped.
What types of students have you worked with?
Middle, High School and College age, almost exclusively.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who both works in the kind of photography you're drawn to (nature, fashion, portrait, cosplay, landscape, etc), and then find someone who you work well with.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my goals?
What kind of photography am I looking to create?
What art inspires me? (Books, movies, TV, art, music, dance, anything goes)
