About
Mary Lawrence AKA M-Law has been playing trumpet since age 12. She studied piano, viola, voice and ballet prior to beginning trumpet. During high school Mary Lawrence played in her school marching, concert and jazz band as well as at church.
M-Law has a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Trumpet Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA. During her time in Richmond M-Law began freelancing with many different bands around the city and also taught jazz and trumpet lessons at Muse Creative Workspace
After graduating M-Law started her own band called M-Law & the Prophets of Jazz which still performs from time to time. M-Law stayed in Richmond for about a year after finishing college, and then moved to Washington DC to pursue her musical career further.
M-Law performs with many different bands and for a myriad of audiences. M-Law has performed at the Smithsonian, the Filmore, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club, and Twins. M-Law has shared the stage with acts to include Carolyn Malachi, members of P-Funk, and most recently, Kenny Lattimore.

Yes. I charge 50$ for half an hour and 75$ for an hour.
