About
As an art educator I have over 8 years experience working with pre-school age to young adults. My clients’ skill level dictates their lesson plans. Therefore no one lesson is the same, and are created with each individual in mind.
Previous groups I have experienced working with are: autistic groups( adult and children groups), parent and child (paint and arts and crafts) sessions, and courses held with Newport News Parks and Rec teaching art courses.
I gain a sense of pride, having the ability to teach clients how to capture their visions, dreams, and imaginations through the arts. And this is my personal pleasure to leave my piece to society with Art!!

I love working with mixed media. It allows me to experiment with a variety of materials for my expressions. My passions are in murals, FacePainting, expressing my thoughts through 2021, and photography.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process would be:
Assessment, introduction of myself and visuals of my style of body of work, establish the client’s weaknesses, strengths, and what desires for taking my course. From there I’ll develop more personal bullets in the lesson for a more tailored lesson for individual clients’ needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts, 2012. Currently working on certifications in Art Therapy and Masters in Secondary Education, in Art.
I’m also, a local public high school art teacher, teaching in the public school system since 2013. I am experienced in lesson planning development, working with special needs, and creating dynamic balance lessons that all ages could enjoy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have standard reasonable pricing.
How did you get started teaching?
My start and love for art started in grade school, where I attended art classes every year. Moving forward a few years, my mother suggested for me to try teaching art. So I became a full time substitute filling in for the local public schools art teachers.
I fell in love with my students, the job was doing something that I loved. I’ve been able to leave a lasting impression on everyone who I’ve come in contact with with the mutual love or desire to create.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked in previous day cares providing art lesson plans, Elementary, Middle, and High school students. I have also worked with the gifted, AP (advanced students), autistic groups of all spectrums (adults and children).
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent end of the year event I’m fond of because I had such a good time. It was a Candyland paint session with J.M. Smuckers corporate event. 20+ clients had such a good time! They weren’t afraid to try and create based on their visions and with my lead. It was a perfect match. Looks of completed paintings I feel like all the client’s were proud of.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice is for a student looking to hire a teacher should look for a style artist/instructor similar to what you like or your current style.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Just think of art related questions, write them down and ask away!! The only dumb question, is the one not asked!
