Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I introduce myself, describe my artistic background, and ask the student what are their art experience(s), if any, and the goals, or what they want to achieve or expect out of the lesson. Lessons are online, through Zoom.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certificate of Drawing from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, watercolor and drawing classes from colleges, several private lessons from established artists, including international and American.
I also hold a Bachelor's in Psychology from Virginia Wesleyan College.
Lastly, my last job was as a former Art Instructor at Art Studio on the Boulevard. I have also previously worked as a Montessori Teacher for Forever Young Montessori where I taught, besides other subjects, Art to children, including some with Special Needs.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons are $14 per leason for all ages. Thereafter, if the student wishes to continue, I offer a discounted price of only $10 per lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
First at a Montessori school, and later, as an Art Instructor. I had wanted to fulfill a dream of sharing my knowledge and skills in art, and using my Psychology degree as an aid in teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children and adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Publishing a book of most of my artwork for my private viewing.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Know what you want out of the lesson, don't be afraid to ask questions, and most of all, don't be afraid to experiment, be curious and make "happy accidents."
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How much art experience they have, if they have a specific project or subject they'd like to try or if they're working on something already, of which I can give a critique.
