For me, it’s all about that empowering moment of the reveal when your client rediscovers her beauty through boudoir, the family delights at the large portrait print, or the client thanks you for the successful ad campaign. I love to see the results when my tutoring students begin to share what they've learned and I can see their progress. Photography is a journey, we each have our own path, but we do walk a few steps together and lend a hand.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I seek to understand what they would like to explore. What facets of photography or videography they're struggling with, or want to branch out into. Sometimes it's a creative element, such as lighting, composition or editing techniques. Others are looking to better understand technologies and tools. Either way, I customize the sessions to each student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
35 years on my own photography journey
A bachelor of science degree
I host Photographers' Workshops in my studio every other week
I have a growing YouTube channel
I love to share what I've learned with others
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Usually $60/hour in-studio or via Skype. Mileage extra if you'd like me to come to you, and a small additional fee for evenings and weekends. I also have bundle pricing if you'd like to purchase a block of sessions and save a few pennies.
I also offer a premium service where I bring in live models to learn posing for portraiture and boudoir. I only quote those after building a learning plan with the student.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always enjoyed sharing what I discover. I have been a guest lecturer at two major Universities in the areas of Information Technology, Big Brother and other volunteer opportunities, and support worthy causes like the American Diabetes Association. Now, besides tutoring, I host Photographers' Workshops at my studio every other week and teach formal classroom courses on photography at a contemporary art museum.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with middle through high school students, career professionals, retired individuals, ESL students, and special needs kids.
