I have the only studio in Hampton Roads that have a hair and makeup salon in the studio. We have two working studios and regularly have 4 to 6 sets ready at any given point. We use Paul C. Buff, Novatron, and LED lights.
For outside teaching, we have a variety of location lighting flashes and a variety of light defusers to help photographers see the light.
Once photographers are trained on our lighting systems we rent the studio out in 1-hour increments so they can practice or shoot scheduled clients. Our in-house makeup artist is available to support a variety of shoots.
I have loved photography for over 30 years and continue to love teaching photography to new photographers. My goal is to teach not just photography but also sales, marketing, Adobe Creative Suite and much more. Photography is a true entrepreneur job and I love seeing people learn, grow and increase their abilities.

When I first meet new students I like to have a conversation with them to identify where they are currently in their photographic journey and where would the like to go. As we establish a report I discover what they know by observing how they perform photographic tasks. Once they complete the work we evaluate and then develop a personalized plan to help them improve on various aspects.
If students are not experienced we start with basic light and camera control and then move forward. The goal is to gain mastery of each skill before moving on to the next lesson.
I have been a photographer for over 30 years and have traveled to more than 60 countries documenting as a photojournalist. My images have appeared internationally in newspapers, magazines, books, and websites.
