Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated as a Film student and own a business in photography. You can view my Instagram @danieljamal9 and @lenslab.llc or my website for my portfolio!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
What types of students have you worked with?
As a photography teacher, I have had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of students, from those who are new to using cameras and need guidance on the basics, to beginners who want to improve their skills and techniques.
In addition, I have also worked with individuals who may already have some experience using cameras but want to develop their knowledge in manual mode and framing techniques to achieve a more professional and cinematic look in their photos.
Regardless of each student's skill level or experience in photography, my teaching approach is tailored to their individual needs and learning style. I strongly believe in developing foundational skills and techniques while also encouraging creativity and personal expression in each student's work.
It is my goal to help every student reach their full potential and achieve their vision as a photographer. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise in photography with others and supporting them throughout their journey toward becoming confident and skilled photographers.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When it comes to hiring a photography teacher, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, consider their experience and expertise in the areas you want to learn. Look for teachers who have a strong portfolio and positive reviews from previous students.
Secondly, consider their teaching style and how it aligns with your learning style. Some teachers may be more hands-on while others may take a more theoretical approach. It's important to find a teacher who can adapt to your individual learning needs and provide personalized instruction to help you achieve your goals.
Lastly, it's important to consider the teacher's personality and how well you connect with them. You'll be spending a lot of time learning from this person, so it's important to choose someone you feel comfortable with and who inspires you.
As a photography teacher, I prioritize creating a personalized approach that helps each student identify their strengths and weaknesses, and develop a plan to achieve their goals. I believe in creating a fun, relaxed, and engaging learning environment, and am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with others.
If you're looking for a teacher who is patient, supportive, and invested in your success, I would love to work with you!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would say think most about how badly you want to learn. That's the only question that matters! Everything else is just curiosity waiting to be answered, and creativity waiting to be released! Ask away!
