About
I try to individualize my curriculum for each student. I weave your interests and goals into my lessons. For example, if your goal is to enter nursing college classes, I will help prepare you for this by using topics relating to nursing in your curriculum. My students are very pleased with how practical my curriculum is toward meeting their goal.
I enjoy watching my students succeed by realizing their personal goal. It gives me satisfaction to know that I assisted someone to achieve a goal they formerly thought would be "too difficult" for them.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with your goal. Every student (or parent of a student) has a goal for tutoring. Your goal may be to catch-up or gain skills academically. Or your goal may be to better understand classwork or complete an assignment in your best work. Whatever your goal is, I listen. We talk on the phone before the first lesson and create a strategy for how to reach your goal. By the time we meet online, I will have prepared for the class with either my own curriculum or with resources, information, and skills to guide you toward successfully meeting that goal. I use your assignments, my curriculum, your interests, and my skills as an instructor all with the focus of helping you achieve your goal.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My master's degree is in counseling psychology, which relates well to working with students of all ages. As I discover what your goals are for increasing your skills, I also seek to find what "roadblocks" you may have encountered. Knowing these, I try to work with you on creating curriculum best suited for you.
