A lot of students who come to me either as beginners or early advanced level don't read music well and just memorize their pieces.

I make sure they know how to read notes and learn the proper theory, which is really critical to play well all around in the future.

I also do ear training to develop their good hearing skill (good ear), so students can even write their own songs if they want in the future and are able to play without music when music is not available (not all music we hear is available with printed version) and so forth.

I feel that I am doing a good thing for this rather dry and cold hearted world when my students seem to enjoy their music and play well and show progress. I DO feel that people who know how to appreciate music tend to have better heart. I am trying to spread more love, caring feeling, and warmth in this world through music which I am good at and I love. It heals people. Learning piano can also prevent elderly people from getting dementia/alzeimer's disease. No other instrument uses both hands at the same time to move independently with different notes, rhythm, and technic to create melody, harmony, complexity, healing to your heart.

I donate to 45 different non profit organizations such as Humane World of Animals, formerly Humand Society US and International, PETA, ASPCA, IFAW, Lady Freethinker, Rolda (animals in Ukraine), Only One, 와카롱 in Korea, CARE in Korea, Change.org etc. Why? Not because I am rich, but because I care. I wish this world has no war, no hate, no discrimination, and no abuse.
