Haziel Lopez
About
My name is Haziel Lopez but my whole baseball career I was known as Z. As a High School Graduate from Cascade High School in 2020, I experienced a very unfortunate ending to my high school career due to COVID and also going unrecruited after my senior year. In 2021 I decided to give coaching a try at my old little league and at a local select program for the summer, this is where I fell in love with coaching and started to really think about continuing my coaching career. I decided to take a year off of coaching in 2022 and ended up being recruited that same year to play for Olympic College where I was a pitcher and a designated hitter. Although my last season ended as a pitcher/DH, I played the majority of my career as a catcher so I feel very confident in my knowledge of pitching, hitting, and catching. I’m lucky enough to have multiple close friends of mine playing at a wide range of levels from JUCO baseball all the way up to the MLB so the information which I have been able to get from spending my years playing alongside them is a very big blessing since I have seen what it truly takes to get to that next level. Knowing this I now wish to apply the things my teammates and previous coaches have taught me to be the best coach I can be for whatever team I am a part of since I take great pride in being a part of a baseball team since I truly do love this great game.
