Advanced PHD-undamentals Skills And Training
About
My goal is holisitic development of the athlete. I will emphasize development of fundamentals to the sport and branch out to more advanced skills and technique application. I will "over communicate" about any and all situations so the athlete knows exactly what is expected, how to and why.
I had great mentors growing up in my 'Village' as a young person. And I had some really great coaches that inspired me to work hard, compete and even excel beyond all reasonable expectations of me as an adolescent athlete at those early stages. I also had some coaches that weren't so good. My goal is to share my knowledge and experience gained by sharing the many life lessons that I learned through sports competition and positive instruction, coaching and mentoring. Sports was vital to my overall development and I aim to give the same.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to give a thorough introduction of myself, my history and "story" if you will. Share how sports impacted my life - what it taught me and how it shaped and developed me. I will share my playing accolades as well as my coaching background and accomplishments.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's in Sports Administration and Physiology. Share my playing resume (again) and how I view coaching and how I see and do things in a slightly different manner. I tend to be over the top enthusiastic. It's not an act, it is who I am. I can even share video from college and overseas. I am an advant watcher of basketball and all other sports. I have copious amounts of training books, guidelines, video programs and etc.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am seeking to establish myself further in this market. I have had friends, family and parents of players ask me to coach their child. Till this point my working schedule was a challenge. That is no longer the case.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started in coaching and mentoring by the nudging of my college coach. If I think about it, I was learning and being groome through this as a child as I was going through various sports and training. When I became older, I was able to see the relevance of many of the concepts that those GREAT Individuals and mentors where sharing myself and all my other teammates.
What types of students have you worked with?
adolescent young people who are will to work hard and be pushed. I'd prefer to work with families that will trust the PROCESS. Yeah I want to be paid, but I do need to take peoples money just because. If it is not mutually benefitical then we should not continue on.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Currently, right now as a high school coach in the state of WA, all high school sports are impacted by the Covid - 19 situation. It's interesting to see all the creative ways to stay intouch with my players and motivate them despite the circumstances.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hopefully they are consistent; are effective communicators; and alturistically in it for the right reasons.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I think that's for the student athlete and their parents to come up with. I will be transparent in the process and something that my favorite Aunt Bay used to say, I believe that the, '...proof is in the pudding at the end of the day.'
