Ruben has been teaching my granddaughter clarinet this school year and it’s been a great choice. He is so positive, encouraging and given her so much confidence. Not only is he an excellent teacher, but just a really wonderful person. Thanks Ruben.

    Frequently asked questions

The most important thing is that we are doing in lessons what the student wants.  I am very interested in the personal goals that my students have, whether to win a college music scholarship, or possibly audition for a higher band.

Bachelor of Music Clarinet Performance, Bachelor of Music Saxophone Performance, Bachelor of Music Education, Western Washington University 1992, 29 years of teaching clarinet/saxophone lessons, piano lessons, as well as public, private, homeschool and community bands.  I teach classical and jazz all levels.  My students have won $536,000.00 in college music scholarships.  I love teaching and i love people!!!!  Seeing people achieve their dreams is why I teach!!!

30.00 per half hour, 60.00 per hour, 120.00 per month for lessons, 120.00 per hour for life coaching and public speaking
I started as a high school band director back in 1992. My love of teaching and students grew, and 32 years later I am so thrilled to continue working with such great people!
Beginning-Advanced level, students with great hearts and unique personalities. I love working with so many people from all walks of life!!
Two weeks ago my student Emily won a classical music contest on alto and tenor sax and is going to compete for the state championship on both. It was Emilie's incredible determination and spirit that got her there. Watching her reach her goals was so thrilling to me.
Find a teacher that absolutely cares about you and your goals. The lessons are all about you and not the teacher. Find a teacher who who is passionate about your success and believes that you can do anything if you work hard enough. Finally, someone who brings you up instead of puts you down.
What are your goals in taking lessons? Imagine that you are the teacher. What do you want the lesson format to look like?
