About
I focus on the development of the student first, and the development of the dancer second. I want my students to grow in strength, grace, confidence, focus, joy, and friendship...and learn to dance along the way. :) I love sharing the art of ballet, and believe very firmly that the enjoyment and education of ballet is for everyone, regardless of body type, age, experience, or physical or mental limitations. I have worked with a variety of children over the last twenty years, and I think that their individualities are what make teaching them so rewarding.
I began teaching ballet while I was still in high school, just looking for something fun to do to make a little extra money. It worked out well because I liked kids and liked dancing. I had no idea that I would end up owning a successful ballet studio in my small town.
I trained in ballet from an early age, with several teachers throughout the US. I have since continued my ballet education through workshops, certification, and self study.
I feel that my greatest achievement is to have former students come back as adults to tell me how much their time in ballet class meant to them. Not all (or even most) ballet students will go on to have a career in dance, but I'm thrilled to have helped them or inspired them in their lives, and given them skills to help them.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students are welcome to come to a free trial class. We place new students based on age and prior dance experience. We also have six-week mini sessions that are perfect for new dancers to get a great introduction to ballet.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Tuition pricing available on the website.
What types of students have you worked with?
Most of my students are children between the ages of 3 and 18, but I have worked with adults as well, and older beginners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
This year, I will celebrate twenty years of teaching and putting on spring recitals. I am very proud of all I have put into this school, and am looking forward to celebrating with past and present students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Try them out! A teacher's resume and name dropping means nothing if they don't have a good teacher-student connection. You want to be with a teacher that will help your child flourish, both as a dancer AND as a person. Not one at the detriment of the other.
