Hi Stichers! My name is Jennifer and I am a maker and lover of all things crafty. I really enjoy exploring new mediums and working on my favorite crafts.
I grew up with the most creative Mother; she was an amazing seamstress, chef, and potter to name a few of her prolific skills. - I learned so much from her and was in awe of her abilities -looking back on my time with her I realize that as much as I adored her-she was a perfectionist and a bit of a task master and some times that was not so fun.
I have a different philosophy concerning creating- i want your lesson to be fun and I provide an environment that allows you to be creative. I am a very patient instructor and give my students the time necessary to learn without feeling rushed or pressured.
In my studio I have several Bernina sewing machines available that are easy and problem free to operate and available to use during your lesson as well of many other tools you will need to get started . We begin with the basics, like how to use a machine and how to read patterns, and you will gradually master skills and gain confidence and be ready to sew on your own
For other crafters or for those who aren't sure what they want to learn I have a library of a couple hundred craft books to help you find the perfect project, be it sewing, knitting, crocheting or embroidery, I have you covered. We will find something you really want to learn and have fun at the same time.
I am flexible about where we have our lesson but reccomend coming to me because I can't possible transport everything I have in my cozy studio.
Send me an email to inquire about what you want to learn and let me help you find your inner artist. We have so much fun and every one of you has an artist within . Happy stitching!
I love using my hands to put cloth with thread or yarn to make something. There is a feeling you get creating that brings satisfaction....really like nothing else. I think that our society is too fixed upon immediate gratification and not about enjoying the journey. That is the real fun and the part I really enjoy. You will explore your creative side and practice with me and find the real joy of making something yourself.
Jennifer was fun and enthusiastic person, I had a great time with her making projects and she was literally patient with her student.
Jennifer is very patience. The way she teach is ease to learn. She is very happy and lovely person.
I enjoyed my first class with Jennifer. She communicated to arrange a time that would work for my schedule. She came to me so that I could learn in my space. She was extremely encouraging and really took the time to thoroughly explain the machine and each step of the process. We almost completed an entire project in our one session. I am excited to continue to work with her!
She is a great teacher and friend! She is very kind, patient, and very hospitable to me. I liked her method of teaching, it was very hands on! She allowed me to use all her equipment and machine to sew. She also taught me to embroider. I didn’t get to finish because I work with COVID patients, so to eliminate the exposure to the public, I had to stop many things. But I really recommend working with Jennifer! She is really driven to teach you everything she knows herself. Would take her again and again!
