English Endeavours

I am a Teacher of English as a second languages. I make the learning environment for students to be fun and plesent using Krashen's Theory of Second Language Acquisition (LAL) - "the natural method" His teaching gives the student an active interest in learning and his methods can be applied to any subject. I have 12 credits towards a Masters in TESL, traveled much - Europe, Asia, South and Centeral America, and have lived in Russia. I enjoy people from around the world, having lived in Russia studing the language, experencing the culture, and teaching maritime english. My background is nautical science (Captain/Chief Mate in comercial shipping) with a minor in oceanography. I teach sailing at the CWB onn Lake Union here in Seattle and have been a docent at the Seattle Aquarium. I am also a privet pilot, scuba diver and photographer. With my experences I will bring an understanding, enjoyment, for the student's learning envieonment. I am conciencious and diligent teacher willing to help and learn.

The fofilment in teaching gives one as a teacher new insites on ones ability to teach and learn. Meeting new people and hearing their story enriches my knowledge of the world as a whole. It builds bridges and understanding. Teaching is most enjoyable when you see the glow on the students face and you know they got it. One, as a teacher, knows achievment of efforts when the students teach you. These aspects of teaching always make it changeling and joyful.
