About
We have lessons in a variety of art forms - ceramics/pottery , fused glass, cast glass, jewelry making, and a variety of paint mediums. Our studio has private classrooms and a large open space suitable for walk-ins or group events. We also have an espresso, wine and craft beer bar onsite. Our retail section sells materials for the art forms noted, and we have eight potter's wheels as well as our four kilns. Several of our instructors have received awards for their work. Our complete calendar can be seen at createartcenter.com, we can also set up private lessons, or you can walk in and play on your own.
I love pretty much all forms of art, but the real thrill is seeing the variety of other styles that people come up with. 30 people can produce 30 different versions of the same project. I also love experimenting with melting glass and sharing what I've learned.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, we have a chat to determine what skills they have learned and what level they're at. Then we talk about what they want to learn or develop further. If we are a good fit, then we develop an individual plan for that student.
If what they want to learn is a completely new art form (fused glass, for instance) they can join a class already scheduled, which is a more economical option.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am largely self-taught (we do have degreed artists on staff), and have been drawing and painting since a tot. I have taken numerous classes in drawing, painting, ceramics, and glasswork. I've been running an art studio and teaching lessons for the past two years, while also developing my own style and skills as an artist.
