About

Hello there, my name is Madison!

I am a certified concept artist from Vancouver, BC. I have been doing art for my entire life but have been doing it professionally for about 5 years, recently getting my certificate from Vancouver Film School, the top animation school in Canada (number 2 in the world). Art is my biggest passion and I would love nothing more than sharing it with others.

I specialize in lessons for children ages elementary to middle school, but am more than open to younger or older students as well! I offer personalized tots classes at parents' request, and advanced lessons for high school age and above, as well as custom specialized classes for students with special needs and learning impairments. My goal is to help students release their (maybe hidden?) talent and creativity while enjoying a fun, relaxing, positive, and encouragement-driven class.

Most importantly, I adjust classes student-to-student based on a few things - skill level, confidence, and experience. Every kid is different and that's completely okay!

What my classes have to offer (varies depending on age, experience, etc.) -

- colour theory

- art history

- basic anatomy (human and non human available)

- style change practice

- environment design

- practice with different mediums (materials)

- prop and vehicle design

- and much more!

I can't wait to get started! See you soon!

I love spilling my brain onto paper! I have a very imaginative mind and there are a lot of colours and ideas flying around in there. I think in pictures!

Very kind hearted girl! You can tell she has creative blood. My son is in high school and has special needs and she was there for him in middle school When he was struggling with an art project. Very positive and uplifting.

She was very open and listened very well when my daughter said what she wanted to draw or paint. Very fun energy!

    Frequently asked questions

My first lesson by video chat is always a get-to-know-eachother deal! The most important thing to me is making sure I know who I'm working with and what their interests and skill levels are, before coming up with a lesson plan that works for them personally. A kid never goes to piano lessons and is expected to play Flight Of The Bumblebee on day one!
Once I get to know who I'm working with, and we seem to be a good fit, lesson 2 will be an introductory class using whatever materials they have at home, or that the parent or guardian is able to attain within their budget. From there, they sky's the limit!

I graduated in 2019 from Vancouver Film School with a certificate in concept art and illustration.

Prices start at $20 USD per hour-long lesson, but can fluctuate from there depending on materials, skill level, age, and frequency of lessons (if more than once a week, I offer a personalized discount, or a weekly rate!). But it also depends on the budget: I am more than happy to adjust materials on my end if the cost is too expensive for you. Creativity should be accessible to all.

My mother is a preschool teacher and has been for over 14 years - during my youth and high school years I would frequently visit the class and take over the craft for the day! It was always so much fun and it led me to becoming a junior art teacher's assistant in grade 12 for kids in middle school and early high school.

Preschool through high school! I have taught kids younger and I have taught full grown adults, but I have most frequently had the privilege of assisting school-agers with their class projects and personal creative projects.

Don't settle too soon! Different students have different needs and it may take a while to find one you're comfortable with and who can teach you based on your skill level.
If I'm not the one for you, that's completely fine! I hope you find someone who meets your wants and needs and can offer you something that you can grow and improve from.

    - Do I trust this person to listen to me?

    - Do I feel like I would have fun in their classes?

    - Do they speak clearly and in a way that I can understand them?

    - Will I feel comfortable and listened to if I need to ask a question or take a break?

    - Will I be excited to attend lessons, or will it become a chore?
