About

I've been playing soccer for over 30 years, I've been teaching it for 13 years and nothing makes me happier than watching a player develop new habits and then see the consequential joy that follows. I teach students how to express themselves on the field. From playing club soccer at 4 years old, all the way to a few years of professional indoor soccer, I've come to believe that humility, respect, commitment and belief play integral roles in the development of any young human being. It was these pillars that helped me to become captain of most every team I've played for as well as a few accomplishments that I hold dear. Over my adult soccer career I've earned: Captain, MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and All American Honors. Having played in Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Holland, Belgium, Argentina and Brazil, I've gathered a balance of perspectives on how to best develop as an athlete but more importantly as a person.

The next step is a program that mixes personal, peer and small group training.

I enjoy showing young people on a daily basis that they can do the things they previously believed they couldn't. Watching someone fail on a new skill or technique and then watching them obtain the skill over time is a real joy for me.

The relationships I've gained over the years from personal training young athletes are indispensable to me. Soccer alone has provided me with so much, so as many coaches have said, it's my turn to give back to the game.

Bryan has everything we need which is saying a lot. The skills to relate to high level play, the ability to coach the right skills at the right time, and the attitude which models, teaches, and encourages our daughter. His focus on mindset just put him over the top. An absolutely amazing coach.

I am so excited to share our experience of working with Bryan for personal training sessions. I cannot stress how satisfied we were with the excellent soccer and life training that Bryan provided to my daughter. For five years, he instructed her on technical and strategic skills for her center mid position for her club team at Washington Premier. His knowledge helped her develop excellent passing skills and ball control, but most importantly he instilled confidence through his counsel. Bryan takes the entire athlete into account, he is especially effective with girls, tailoring his interactions to building up their positives, to encourage better performance. He has a caring, effective approach of getting to know the individual, building trust, and then pulls out the best the child can do. He is an excellent instructor, an outstanding person, and I highly recommend him.

My daughter is very shy and takes a couple sessions to open up. After one session my daughter was telling my what a great time she had and how much she learned.
I would highly recommend Westside Soccer Education for all ages

    Frequently asked questions

Making a new student feel comfortable and eager to learn is paramount.  I always start my sessions with a simple confidence building drill to prime the student for success.  The remaining hour would be basic drills to test for their level of experience, commitment, fitness and resiliense to failure.  Typically, I finish each session making sure that the final touch of the day was high quality so the student can leave with confidence.

I played soccer at a high level throughout my playing career and I always held leadership roles within the many different teams I played for.  I've been training soccer personally, with youth teams, at college clinics and at a non-profit home to an MLS team.  My coaching courses and time spent doing personal training at LA Fitness helped me refine my approach.

Pricing depends on frequency and total number of sessions desired.  Pricing ranges from $35-$60/hr.

I've naturally gravitated towards leadership roles my whole life. I've built very positive relationships over the last 10 years of soccer training whether it be personal, pair, small group or team.  Over time, I've realized that I am most valuable at a personal level and therefore do not do training with 5+ students.  Soccer taught me how to cope with adult life so I attempt to provide that same knowledge/experience to my students.

Literally ALL kinds. 7 years old - 44 years old.

I worked with a young lady (13 y/o) that was a stud on her lower division team but wanted to make a higher level team.  After working with her for a few short months, she made a higher level team and has turned a corner with both her fitness and her competence with the ball.

Experience and education are both high priority.  Those aside, personality and coaching style need to be considered.  Goal setting is massive so communicating about it should tell you plenty.

What is my current level of fitness and what is my fitness goal?  What are my biggest strengths and weaknesses as a player?  Who is a good role model for me? How do I rate my level of commitment to my development?
