My tutor is extremely knowledgeable. He teaches the lessons in a logical progression so that I am learning correct grammar and encourages me to think and speak in Spanish without having to translate to English in my head and then back to Spanish. Each class he and I converse in Spanish and he is very patient and encouraging to me. He doesn’t just teach me Spanish, but also provides information about the diversity of Spanish culture and how the language differs from one country to another. He is friendly and fun to be with so the class is always intellectually stimulating as well as an enjoyable experience. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent tutor.

How did you get started teaching?

got started teaching before the year 2000, bringing over two decades of experience in language education. I hold valid certifications to teach both ESL English and ESL Spanish, which has allowed me to work with a wide range of students. Over the years, I have taught at language schools and universities, developing and delivering engaging, culturally sensitive curricula tailored to diverse learner needs. My professional experience includes designing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and integrating modern teaching methodologies to ensure effective language acquisition. Throughout my career, I have consistently helped students achieve fluency and confidence in their language skills, demonstrating a proven track record of success in both classroom and academic settings.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have experience tailoring my teaching to diverse learner needs, implementing my own methodology based on the natural approach to language learning. Additionally, I specialize in supporting students with different learning process difficulties, adapting lessons to ensure every student can achieve language proficiency effectively. Describe a recent event you are fond of.

A recent event I’m particularly fond of was a community learning workshop I organized last recently. The workshop brought together local residents from diverse backgrounds to learn practical English and Spanish language skills, while also providing information on community resources and support programs. I designed interactive sessions using my own methodology, based on the natural approach to language learning, so that participants could feel confident practicing in real-life situations. What made this event truly special was seeing students of all ages and levels actively engage, overcome their language barriers, and connect with one another. It was incredibly rewarding to witness not only their progress in language skills but also the sense of empowerment and community that developed throughout the workshop. It reaffirmed my belief in the transformative power of education and advocacy.

My advice for a student looking to hire a teacher in my area of expertise is to look for someone who can adapt their teaching to the student’s individual needs and learning style, not just follow a rigid curriculum. It’s important to work with a teacher who has experience with students of all ages, levels, and backgrounds, and who can make learning engaging and practical. I always recommend seeking a program that balances structured lessons with real-world language practice, which is exactly what I offer in my Intensive Spanish Program Course. In this course, students get personalized instruction using my natural approach to language learning, along with targeted support for those with different learning process difficulties. My goal is not just to teach the language, but to build confidence and fluency so students can use Spanish effectively in everyday life.
