About
Always excited to work with young athletes to help them develop their physical and mental baseball skills.
I love baseball. I have played since I was 4 and now share the bond with my 14 year old son. I enjoy helping others get at something I love and when they share that same passion, it makes me happy that I can help them in some way.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First lesson will usually be an assessment of the student's ability and skill level. I will usually allow the student to sho wme some of their normal routine and then make small adjustments. I will assess the student in a way that will alow them some immediate feedback and what to expect moving forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played baseball since I was 4, for almost 42 years. I was an all state SS in high school, played divsion 1 baseball at USF, and played professionally in Mexico and the United States in the GBL. I have been a high school coach for 7 years on and off, a little league coach for 6 years, and a private hitting instructor for around 18 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am from California so I am still learning the market here in Washington. Right now, this is what I have.
$25 for a 30 minute lesson
$50 for a one hour lesson
$140 for 3 lessons
$225 for 5 lessons
$400 for 10 lessons
$300 for a group lesson (6 kids for 2 hours)
I currently use D Bat Bothell. The cost for a private cage is $50/hour, or $25 for 30 minutes. I am a gold member so the cost is $40/hour or $20 for 30 minutes. We would split this price if you wanted a lesson at a training facility. If we do the lesson at a park or field, there would be no cost associated with this.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I was in high school. Our high school coach had the players work summer camps with the kids that were 6-8 years old. I truly enjoyed it and haved work on and off through the years.
What types of students have you worked with?
Most of the students that I work with are usually between the ages of 10 and 17, but I have had a student in his 50's who just wanted a refresher and batting practice and I have had as young as 6. I recommend 10 and over because younger than 10, the kids are really raw and its more about teaching muscle memory.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Having a chance to play with my 14 year old son in a game. I pitched and he caught a fly ball and we also hit back to back in the order.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would start by saying thank you. The advice I would give is come with an open mind. Hitting is my strength and I encourage young hitters to practice as much as they can and to invest in a good tee. A tee for a baseball player is a lifelong investment. What I learned from Tony Gwynn is you can never have enough reps.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I think that it's important to understand what your strengths and weaknesses are. If you are starting out, be open to some advice. What do you want to learn? What do you feel you need to work on? What would you like me to help you with?
