About
I am a 25 year-old classically trained pianist and piano teacher dedicated to helping students achieve their musical goals. I have degrees in psychology and music from the University of Washington, have been playing seriously since I was nine, and have been teaching piano to students of all levels and ages for the last two years.
My deep classical training and patient friendly demeanor make me especially well suited for teaching:
kids
beginner adults,
Intermediate to advanced pianists interested in classical music - especially Bach
As a teacher, I foster an approachable and student-centered teaching style, with one of my main aims being to make learning piano fun, and helping students play songs they love as quickly as possible. I have extensive training with elite classical musicians, most recently completing a one-on-one mentorship program with concert pianist Aaron Pilsan in Berlin, Germany. I am also trained in jazz and highly proficient in pop and other genres and can help students whose interests lie outside of classical music.
Piano is what I am best at, and sharing the gift of music through teaching brings me immense fulfillment and joy. I love to watch my students grow and improve over time, supporting them on their musical journey.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always start the process of working with a new student by having a conversation with the student about why they want to learn piano. I also ask them for a list of music that they like to listen to or may want to play eventually. If the student is not brand new to piano I will kindly ask them to play something for me. I gauge where the student is in their musical journey. If the student is brand new to piano, we will begin working through a lesson book together on the fundamentals of rhythm, technique, notes, etc. However, I always try to help a student learn to play a version of a song they love as early as possible. If a student has some experience with the piano, our journey together will be highly individualized and dependent on the needs and goals of the student. While I am able to offer firm guidance and support, I am a believer in student-led learning. Piano and music is a vast landscape and there is no one linear path to success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took piano lessons from 9-16. In my time at the University of Washington as an undergraduate student I was accepted by audition to receive one-on-one instruction in piano performance and received a minor in music.
From 2020-2022, I pushed myself to expand musically by learning Jazz from Seattle pianist Scotty Bemis.
In 2022 I travelled to Berlin to complete a mentorship program with concert pianist Aaron Pilsan.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with adults both experienced and new to piano as well as kids new to the piano.
