About

I am an experienced artist (specifically a painter), who has offered live online drawing and painting classes for more than a decade. At my company, The Roaming Studio, students have options to take weekly group art classes taught by myself or another experienced teacher, or to book private instruction.

We take students of all experience levels, and ages 11 years old and up. Our class sizes are small (no more than 15 people in one class), and each one starts with an optional demonstration that students follow along with. They can be attended regularly, or on a drop-in basis. Teacher feedback on each work is offered in real time, and students can get to know each other as well.

I've been teaching art online for a decade, so these classes are designed for the optimum live online experience. Students of all levels can join in, fundamentals are drilled in at every class, and students get to know each other and the teacher in a personal way.

    Great course. You feel welcome and heard. Despite being a beginner and the classes being online, I was able to follow and partake in each piece easily. Instructive, and although the course is online, you are able to get constructive criticisms and accurate corrections. Also, pretty inexpensive when considering the amazing quality of the lessons.

    I have been a painter for twenty years, and I've been teaching art online for ten years.  I work with students of all ages and specialize in grouping people of different experience levels together so that everyone learns quickly and powerfully.

    Online classes are $30 per session (with a student/sr rate available), or $28 per class if students buy a ten-session pass. Private classes start at $125 per hour.
    Over the years, I've found that the students who work best in my school are those who are looking for regular, ongoing instruction and community. Classes are small, and students often stay for years, getting to know each other well. Because classes are flexible and ongoing, students can join in and out as they have time. Because we are exclusively online, I've limited the lower age range of classes to age 11, because younger students can struggle with the online environment (as we learned during COVID).
