Heidi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art in 2010 from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. She specialized in painting and drawing and also studied illustration, visual communication and digital design. As an artist, she is primarily a painter and illustrator, but also loves to draw using a variety of materials including pastel, colored pencil and pen. She is a member and past vice-chair of the SE chapter of Wisconsin Visual Artists and of the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN). As a digital designer, her favorite projects are WordPress websites and stationery for print.

Her narrative and illustrative painting style uses a personal, symbolic visual language to convey complex emotion, endless wandering thought and big life questions, putting images to verbally inexpressible inner states and experiences and working through these unresolved questions in the process. It is the intersection of her interest in psychology, development of a life philosophy and spirituality as she experiences it. The cornerstone of her process is visual meditation, and she prefers to create from what she has seen in her mind’s eye, which is a rich, detailed and colorful realm. Heidi favors using large forms, geometry, and a Modernist color palette with her introspective practice, and has the goal of conveying mood and atmosphere in a subtly surrealistic way, as is the inevitable result of of attempting to recreate what one has imagined.
