I think there is a misconception around art, that boasts a natural talent prerequisite. When in fact learning to paint or create any art form is exactly the same as learning anything else. I'm happy to help people find that outlet and hone that skill.
I have 20 years of experience in teaching people how to paint and make jewelry, and still my favorite part is that moment when the pride exudes from the makers face after completely something they enjoyed making and like the result of.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work with the student to assess what goals are trying to be reached, and then build a step by step curriculum to achieving those goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and am a Speech Language Pathologist by trade. I have used art as a part of language therapy for years, but also have taught summer art programs and painting classes as a side job since 2008.
