About

We specialize in movement and low light. Portraits, family photos, theatre, performance, sports ...we have shot it all. (Don't love weddings but we have done some!) we believe in excellent customer service and learning how to anticipate customer needs. I was a teacher for years so I know how to explain things and I have a great deal of patience. From just shooting better family shots to becoming a pro-amateur - I can help. I love giving people a product that really speaks to them. My work is based on a good picture that needs little editing. I enjoy producing shots that are a good representation but with a little polish. I like meeting people who say they never take a good picture or had one taken of them - love to give them something they are happy with.

Frequently asked questions

First, we chat about what you would like to accomplish and I can give you some idea of the best approach. For instance,  it may be best if we meet twice and then do a field trip to take some pictures and go through the editing process.

Over ten years of experience and a successful business.

$35 per hour (for remote or in person at a public location)

$75 for field trips (accompanied shoots with 1 hr. editing assistance, 20 miles+ may require a mileage fee)

Packages are available of 3 and 5 lessons at a 10 and 15% discount respectively.

I have a natural ability to break down information and present it in several ways to reach people in different ways. I have had several teaching jobs with a variety of ages and abilities. I am a nonjudgemental and patient teacher who believes in positive feedback.

In the area of photography, I have taught mostly young people but I have really been a teacher to many ages. I don't have any preference. I have been a mentor for at least three people who have used a photography project for their senior capstone project (process reviewed by others).

Decide what you would like to accomplish. What would make you feel happy about your pictures?

Decide what kind of teacher works best for you - is organization important or do you prefer more of a free spirit?

Know that not everything happens in a day! Give your teacher a "minute" to get to know you and your needs and to provide you with the best lessons and resources.

Choose a teacher who takes pictures that you would like to take. Look at their portfolio.

Ask if they enjoy teaching or if is this just a way to supplement income. You may get the same result but one will be more enjoyable!

Ask yourself - do I understand that a good picture can be taken with any equipment but not all pictures can be taken with the same equipment?
