Welcome! My name is Kristen Roskob, and I'm a disabled, award-winning photo-realistic portrait artist who lives and works in San Tan Valley along with my partner and our four cats.

I love capturing the expression and beauty of organic life and recently emerged into the gallery world. I have won over a dozen international awards for my work and have been published in multiple art magazines. I am mostly self-taught with over 20 years of experience in drawing and painting traditional art. I have the ability to draw and paint anything I see using a variety of methods, mostly freehand.

My love of teaching is almost as strong as my love of creating. Following my IT Consulting career which included many years of teaching large and small groups, I now incorporate all of her life experience to provide you with the best learning experience possible.

I am also part of the BIPOC Arts program through Phoenix Center for the Arts as a Teaching Artist for both youth and older adults. In this program, I teach my techniques and methods in a sequential manner to build valuable skills over 6 to 8 weeks, starting with pencil leading up to painting with pastel, and finally acrylic.

For a customized experience, you can sign up for individual lessons where I will show you step-by-step how to simplify complicated references to create a realistic masterpiece. All of this while teaching you vital techniques, observational and compositional skills, regardless of your artistic background.

The mediums you can learn under my tutelage is as follows: Graphite, Charcoal, Soft Pastel, Colored Pencils, Acrylic, Oil.
