I have been a full-time piano teacher for 40 years. I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to share the gift of music with so many people. I have played professionally, taught music in an elementary school, and in 1973 stated my own School of Piano. I teach classical piano, theory and ccomposition. I also teach other styles of music including blues and jazz, playing using lead sheets (playing using chords), playing by ear and learning to write your own music. My specialty is teaching students who are burned out on traditional piano instruction. My biggest compliment is to hear that former students own a piano and play regularl...

Noelle recently graduated from University of Auckland majoring in Classical Performance (and Psychology), under the guidance of Rae de Lisle. She is originally from Japan, where she began taking piano lessons at age four from Mayumi Iwasaki, a graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts. Here in Japan, she had successfully competed in one of the biggest regional competitions, where she obtained second place. After moving to New Zealand at age thirteen, she has had the opportunity to study with some of the most recognized pianists here — including Gillian Bibby, Catherine McKay and Rachel Thompson. Ed S. says, ""Michael Daniel is everything you'd ever want in a voice coach. If you're a beginner, he accepts you where you are without judgment and builds from there, giving you confidence every step of the way. He breaks down songs into elements you didn't even know existed, and teaches you how to sing effectively in a well-thought-out, methodical way that's also a lot of fun. It's amazing how fast you can start to see progress if you follow his instructions. I've been taking lessons from Michael for about seven months now. I appreciate his patience, his talent, his willingness to answer my questions, his sense of humor, and his total dedication to my musical education. I look forward to my lessons every single week!" I have over twenty years experience as a piano instructor. I received my BA at the University of Utah majoring in piano performance and continued into the graduate program at Arizona State University in the same field. I teach all levels of experience and specialize in helping children to learn to sight read quickly and also learn to play by ear. I teach traditional methods and include music theory instruction in each lesson. I love to help students to feel confident about their ability to play and perform the piano!...

Tori F. says, "I love that John will get a technical as you want to go. For me, I was wanting something nice and light and he helped me learn the correct fingers to use, chords, and some scales to practice. He even taught me how to change the strings on my guitar!! Super chill dude and doesn't make you feel guilty if you can't practice that much. Totally recommend! " Read more

Christina R. says, "I can not speak more highly of Carrie Caruso as a private lessons instructor. Not only is Carrie an incredibly skilled musician, but she is able to strongly connect with students, expanding their strengths in order to reach and exceed their musical goals. Not only is she adept at helping her students improve their practice habits and performance, but she also brings a levity and engaging element of fun to all of her lessons. I studied with Carrie on the recommendation of my school orchestra teacher to study privately in addition to classroom instruction. Carrie’s expertise, candor, humor, and strategy elevated my playing to a new level. While working with Carrie I was able to consistently achieve first or second chair in my orchestra as well as be placed in the top orchestra of my high school and qualify for Regionals each year. Working with her not only helped me advance in my playing, but also cemented my life long love of music. -Christina Rocks, Director of Fund Development for Compass Housing Alliance" Read more

Gerben K. says, "During our introductory lesson Bryan laid out his teaching style and program, and it matched what I wanted to learn exactly. My goal is to learn how to play the Bass without necessarily needing to remember songs entirely. I want to be able to pick up a bass guitar and play something, or play along with something, because I understand music, notes, composition, etc. Right from the get go it was obvious that's exactly what Bryan's goals for his students are as well, so it was a great fit. Bryan was the first of several teachers who responded to my request on lessons.com, and while I was planning on trying out a lesson with everyone and then making my decision, after my one lesson with Bryan I felt like there was no need as I had found what I was looking for. I am now three lessons in and very much liking the experience. Every week he teaches me something new about music theory and provides me with exercises that help me develop good technique and finger coordination. I would definitely recommend Bryan as a teacher for bass guitar. " Read more

"My dream was to be able to play guitar like a rock star. A few years ago, I decided to give that a try. From the very beginning, I knew that I could never learn how to play guitar using those self-taught methods taught through books or videos. Michael Daniel was the first and the only guitar instructor I worked with. After our first meeting, I knew he was the right guy and there was no need for me to seek another. Michael is an extremely talented musician with a sincere interest in teaching. His lessons offer a cohesive and measurable program of study tailored to address the student’s weaknesses within the framework of their personal interests and objectives. In the six years I’ve been studying with Michael, I have never disappointed. I was a newbie when I first met him and didn’t even know how to hold a guitar correctly. In just few months, I was able to play one of the songs I brought to him. Along the way he had taught me everything from basic chords, to lead soloing techniques, to music theory that I can use to write my own music.Today, I have developed solid skills in both lead and rhythm playing, and is able to play different guitar parts from an incredible variety of song collections from those of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Bon Jovi, Bob Dylan to Zeppelin and many others. As far as I can tell, Michael is incredibly knowledgeable in virtually all aspects of the instrument, from technique to theory to song composition, and he knows how to teach to keep you engaged and excited about what you’re doing. He also has unbelievable ear hearing and can transcribe any song into a guitar tab for you to play with your favorite guitarists. Bottom line — if you think you need guitar lessons, come to visit Michael. He has helped to make my music dream come true. He can do the same to you too!"

My son, Luke is 11 years old and loves his lessons with Ms. Carrie Caruso. He has been making a lot of progress with his violin pieces since he’s been taking lessons with Ms. Carrie. Ms. Carrie really makes every private lesson fun. My son always looks forward to having his violin lessons every week. As a parent, we like the way she interacts with my son, sometimes taking his lead and digressing and the other times gently guiding him back to the current topic. We appreciated for her obvious enthusiasm for the music and teaching. Ms. Carrie is patient and flexible to alter the lesson to meet students’ needs. We are very grateful for all she has taught Luke. -The Nguyen Family
