With over 15 years of private and classroom teaching experience, I offer beginner to intermediate piano, guitar, and songwriting lessons at competitive rates. I am flexible with my teaching approach, and comfortable teaching many different styles of music. Every student gains access to a Google Classroom in which lesson materials, videos, and other resources are centrally stored for easy access, and grown according to the student's goals and progress. In addition to traditional note-reading methods, students also have the option of learning chord-style playing, which can often build momentum and independence much quicker. I believe that ... I specialize in hip hop music, however I am able to write in any musical genre. Currently I attend Full Sail University and am a year away ... View Profile

Andy Lafreniere is a life long music educator who has specialized in the Suzuki method. This method emphasizes starting children on an instrument at an early age (3-4). Music reading is delayed until they have developed a basic technique and learn their first pieces by ear. Reading is introduced shortly afterward. Parents play an important role in this process by organizing practice sessions and motivating their child. Time is spent with the parent to develop some basic skills that will enhance the overall experience. Traditional adult lessons are also available. Andy has been teaching guitar and piano for over forty years. He is a graduate o ... View Profile

I've been a professional classical guitarist and composer for most of my life, although nowadays I play the lute more than than the guitar. I've taught both instruments plus music theory, history and composition to students of all levels from beginners to professionals, both privately and at Empire State College and Brooklyn Music School. I'm especially good at helping students understand the music they're working on - the structure, the phrasing, the historical context - and not just getting their fingers to the notes. I hold a Licentiate in guitar from the Royal College of Music in London, and a Master's in guitar and composition from Bro ... View Profile

I teach not just the violin but music. I provide context. I teach some music theory and music history. I think it helps to understand what you are playing and where it came from. I have degrees in composition and music theory as well as undergraduate degrees in economics and philosophy. Also, I really emphasize sound. I think it's so important whether you're learning the violin at 6 or 60. Sound is so magical; it surrounds and stimulates us. You can feel the violin vibrate when you play it! ... View Profile
