Madison G. says, "I so enjoy my weekly lesson with Margot! My guitar lesson is my checkpoint for the week, tbh. Margot really cares about my progress and works hard to make sure I understand the content of that week's lesson. She is truly one of the best teachers I've ever had and she consistently goes above and beyond. The way she teaches and frames the material is really unique. I'm not just learning chords. I'm finally getting an understanding of the actual DNA of the chords I've been playing since the beginning. All that to say - Margot is awesome and I am extremely excited about the progress I'm making!!" Read more

Hello! I’m a professional guitarist and songwriter from Atlanta, GA, now living in the Nashville area. I studied classical music and jazz guitar at The Berklee College of Music, GA State University and Atlanta Institute of Music and I’m a composer of symphonic music, modern jazz, funk, pop, and instrumental music. I always have wonderful success with my students because I cater the lessons to meet their goals and interests and we can work as hard or relaxed as the student prefers. I love working with beginners as well as advanced students and in addition to learning the guitar, I can do songwriting, arranging, composition, notation readi

Karl R. says, "I have been taking guitar lessons with Ryan at Supertonic Guitar for about four months and I can say that my guitar playing and understanding has improved more than I thought possible. I took lessons many years ago and was frustrated that my instructor was teaching me stuff I didn't care to learn. They didn't have a real plan and they were showing me what they wanted to play, not what I wanted and as a result I lost interest. I really didn't know what to practice or even how to practice and as a result I stopped playing. Fast forward to over 20 years later and lessons at Supertonic Guitar. I have learned more about the guitar, how to play it, and music theory in the past four months than in all the previous years of lessons I've had. Ryan has taken the kind of music I enjoy and want to learn into his lesson plan for me and it makes it so much more fun to learn. It motivates me to play and I come out of just about every lesson with new knowledge and I am eager to apply it and practice it. In the past, I would play a couple times a week when I felt like it; now I look forward to picking up my guitar and practicing every day and as a result I get better and am closer to accomplishing my goals as a guitar player. The jam nights that Ryan organizes are awesome and so much fun. I learn a great deal by playing with other guitarists of different levels from beginner to very experienced. I highly recommend Ryan and Supertonic Guitar if you have any interest at all in learning guitar. He will help you to improve and learn in a way that will make it fun and challenging." Read more

I have 10 years teaching experience, with both younger children 5-15, and high schoolers, 15-19 years old. I can also work with adults. My students revived a lot of awards on international competitions. I am able to learn from my students, as good as they can learn from me.

Keith says, "taking lessons with Matt to improve “band” chops. I do alot of personal work, but band scenerio’s are few and far between. Teacher: PRO’s: Laid back , yet “sharp”. Presents material in a digestible way. 98% of the time isn’t talking “over you”. Good at identifying weaknesses. In my case this is helpful, because I can’t afford not to hear about them. Matt brings a lot of tangible “real world” music experience. If you want to learn soul, pop, blues, country, or r&b Matt is a GREAT choice. CON’s Lessons over zoom make it hard to improvise between teacher-student Sometimes goes over things that I’m aware of (but maybe not executing well that day) and we spend alot of time on it. (Mind you, I’m a player that does better with 1-2 hours of warm up). Price is fair, the teacher deserves the fee and delivers, but maybe some sort of “package” of 5-10 lessons would be nice , to save over $ over time. (maybe I’m a cheap skate? idk) All in all, I think Matt deserves a 5 star rating . Under my own review system, I’d probably actually rate it at 4.45/5 , but he’s definitely well above a 4 star, so there you go. " Read more

I've spent my entire life as a student of music. I know what it's like to start from scratch and the 'one size fits all' approach doeasnt work. My goal is to take you from where you at and help you improve! The goals of my time with a student are all different because everyone is different. I thoroughly enjoy helping students improve. Whether its seeing a student come to me needing help preparing for an audition and then they nail it, or if its a new student that needs to know how to improve and after weeks and months working together they notice an improvment in their playing, it's the best feeling!...

I am a classically trained musician and was determined to be a musical prodigy at a very young age while studying at Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University. I later attended the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood California and have toured and recorded many albums. I truly love all music and sing lead as well as play guitar, bass, piano, mandolin, violin, viola, banjo, drums and harmonica. Teaching is my life and I love nothing more than to help others learn to play what they truly feel.

I've been a student for a few years now and my guitar playing has improved tremendously. Before lessons, I touched my guitar once in a blue moon. Now I get restless if I go a few days without playing. I have learned a lot about the fretboard and music theory, which has given me the confidence to not only learn more songs, but try things beyond what's written in the tabs, as well as learn songs by ear and try out improvising and soloing. It's clear that Ryan is passionate about teaching guitar, and I appreciate that he encourages me to step out of my comfort zone. I recommend taking lessons if you want to hold yourself accountable and gain a deeper understanding of guitar.

I have played the acoustic guitar for many years. Kendrick has challenged me to play new sounds, and I am currently expanding my guitar vocabulary. If you are looking to amp up your guitar (or piano/ keyboard) musical skills, Kendrick has a wealth of knowledge and skill. He is able to teach the theory of music well and plays with much soul and knowledge combined. Highly recommended.
