It goes beyond running, helping you find purpose, meaning, resolve and significance through your efforts that will not only improve your performance on the track or road, but also help you become much more in life.

MEET THE COACH

Coach Dave Barney is an Arizona native with strong ties to its running community. He has had many accomplishments in running starting as an Arizona high school state cross country and track and field champion. Dave was a junior college national champion and an All-American runner at the University of Arkansas before competing in the U.S. Olympic trials four times and representing the United States as a member of the U.S. National Team twice at the world championships.

After his competitive career, Dave turned to collegiate coaching where his Paradise Valley Community College teams have won eight national championships, his athletes have won over fifty individual national championships, and he has been named National Junior College Athletic Association National Coach of the Year eight times. In 2012, Coach Barney was honored, along with Olympians Jesse Owens, Herman Frazier and Lynn Nelson, as inductees into the Arizona Runners Hall of Fame.

Despite all of his running successes, Dave is most proud of helping others achieve not only their personal records as athletes but their personal bests in life.
