Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Formal but timely intake process. We want to make sure we know as much as possible in order to stay focused on client goals and objectives. We require experience on all apparatuses prior to small group classes if coming in for equipment Pilates. Once we know each other, it is smooth sailing. The main goal is to ensure the clients needs are met, we are working as a team and the work is at the level the client should be at.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Certified PMA Master Teacher Trainer for both Pilates and Barre. I completed the PhysicalMind Teacher Training program in 2005 and received my Master Teacher Training certification in 2010.

How did you get started teaching?
My destiny was uncovered in 2005 when I was an Advertising Executive looking for a fitness program I could teach on the side. I found Pilates through a friend who was getting certified and used me to learn on. I fell in love with it and decided I wanted to take it on part-part time while working in Advertising. During the training I got pregant with my first child. About a month later, my dad was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. My life changed dramatically and so did my priorities. I decided to teach Pilates, raise my kids and help with anything I could with my dad. I lost my dad shortly after I became an instructor but I uncovered the passion I have for teaching.. and for Pilates.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds. :) We are well versed in most anatomy related limitations. Neck, Shoulder, Spine, Hip, Knee, Foot and Ankle. We prefer not to avoid the issue but establish a program that is right for each individual. We work with Athletes, transformation clients, young and mature. :)
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Makes sure they are CERTIFIED. Also, you should make sure you have had some private sessions before launching into large group classes. The cost is significantly different but it will save you in comprehension and time in the long run. If you know what you are doing, every single Pilates class will make a difference in your body.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Really think about your goals. Everyone wants a stronger core and leaner muscles. What would really make you happy and give you the feeling that your money is being well spent? It really helps us to get your workout dialed in.
