About

Accent reduction and pronunciation is so much more than learning and practicing sounds. In addition to providing goals custom tailored to their individual accent, I empower my students to uncover and develop the confidence to improve their communication goals, personally and professionally. I strive to make my lessons fun and effective, leaving you feeling inspired, empowered, and motivated.

Nothing is more fulfilling than helping my students feel more confident in themselves and guiding them to actualize their full potential through the power of finding their voice, and finally be heard clearly and accurately!

Carrie is phenomenal! I moved to the USA from Australia and became a professional speaker. My problem was that I used phrases and words that people in the USA could not relate to. This meant that people would ask me to repeat things or smile politely not really understanding my message and worse the silence when something I said landed flat.
I didnt want to change my accent, I wanted to be successful as a speaker and feel confident with my message. I wanted to feel freedom when going out and ordering a meal, that I could do this with ease, instead of discomfort and embarrassment. Im an introvert, so having this piece of mind and confidence to speak and be clearly understood was paramount to me. Carrie is professional, warm, friendly, and patient.
She not only assisted me with my speech, but she also encouraged me to follow my calling in life and believed in me more than I did myself. Carrie is an expert in her field and more importantly, shes passionate about helping others be their best selves. Im happy to speak to anyone who has questions about working with her, she truly is a blessing.

    Frequently asked questions

I provide General American Accent training and speech improvement coaching to non-Native speakers of English so they can improve their speech clarity and communication skills personally and professionally. I start with a comprehensive evaluation of your speech and language skills to identify strengths and areas of immediate need. Based on that assessment, I provide a step-by-step speech improvement method to learning the General American Accent and improving your communication skills with ease and confidence. Not only do we work on pronunciation, but also intonation, rhythm, non-verbal language, understanding idioms, presentation skills, interviewing skills, and optimizing written communication skills when using email, slack, and texting. Lastly, I coach my students to establish empowering beliefs to optimize their communication success. I also work with native English speakers who wish to improve their regional dialect/accent to sound more like the region where they reside.

I've successfully and effectively coached adults with a variety of accents and dialects in speech and communication improvement from a many industries, including entrepreneurs, university professors, IT professionals, doctors and other medical professionals, and podcast and radio show hosts. I've worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist for public schools, private schools, and private clinics for the past 15 years, working with both children and adults. I am a Compton PESL (Pronouncing English as a Second Language) Instructor and a trained instructor in the Accent Channel Method Certification Program. Both programs thoroughly trained me in helping to develop personalized programs for native and non-native speakers of General American English to speak with greater confidence and clarity in their personal and professional lives.
