I love seeing people's Aha moments when they begin to get in touch with their muscles and find new connections in their body, and get excited by these moments.  These are the moments that guide you to unravel your body stories and become a stronger, more capable mover!

I have been cultivating my skills in the holistic fitness field for over 20 years.  Finding Pilates transformed my own body and sharing it has become my true passion.  I am an education fanatic and body nerd and love that I learn from each client too.  Good movement can look a variety of ways.  The importance is how it feels in your body!

The Pilates and Yamuna Body Rolling Methods are accessible to everyone and very effective in guiding you safely to move and feel better in your body.

I have experience working with special populations as well, including pre and postnatal, people with osteoporosis, post-spinal surgeries just to name a few.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I start people out with an introductory package, to introduce the Pilates method and see if we are a good fit.  In Pilates, your movement is our assessment, so in the beginning lessons we observe your strategies, tightnesses, places where you move from, and where you may be stuck. This gives information on what else to include in your program, for example, mobility exercises or release work that will help you be successful in your fitness endeavors.  Pilates exercises replicate natural, functional movements that you do in life and challenge even more in a sport.  The Pilates Method is training for your best life.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have completed 2 comprehensive Pilates trainings, one 450 hours, and one over 950 hours. I hold a Pilates certification from the Pilates Method Alliance.

I am a certified practitioner of the Yamuna Body Rolling, Yamuna Foot Fitness methods as well as the complete Yamuna In Bed program.

I have taken more than the required amount of continuing education throughout my Pilates and fitness career to better understand the body, its anatomy and learn what systems affect our movement body. My understanding of how the body works allows me to quickly hone in on your weak areas and design a successful program for your needs.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My introductory package is 5 private sessions for $275

My private prices after that are:  $75 per session. Packages are also available.

How did you get started teaching?

I began teaching Pilates because I wanted to help people learn how their movement program can help relieve and in most cases eliminate chronic pain. You can get strong and fit without beating up your body and working from your own starting point to feel and move better in your body.  Pilates is good for everyone!  I am passionate about helping people feel better in their bodies. I took Teacher Training in California and Washington state and Canada and taught for over 10 years in a recreation center as well as several studios and have most enjoyed teaching individuals as I do from my home studio.

The progressions as well as the philosophy embedded in the Method keep you on track and engaged with moving forward and feeling good throughout the process.  It is adaptable to all body types and levels.  It corrects imbalances, relieves pain, and leads you to your true potential.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work with adults of varying ages and have specialized in helping people overcome their fitness plateaus due to pain cycles, prior injury, or recent surgery.  I have personal and professional experience helping people manage and often reverse their osteoporosis diagnosis, as well as supporting women through and beyond pregnancy, menopause and life changes in general.  Most issues or injuries involving creating a new relationship and understanding of the core, so it is a common thread in learning to build balanced strength within the body.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would advise people to check out different teachers and their credentials and try them out.  Find someone who is compatible with your personality and fitness needs and really understands the Method and not just a bunch of exercises.
