About

Greetings! Here is a recent testimonial from a Yoga/Meditation Student: "I have benefited deeply both spiritually and physically from yoga practice at the Sukhasala space. Jenn Cormier is an excellent instructor with great energy and a wonderful understanding of the practice and traditions of yogic and native american healing modalities. The classes are spiritual, physically rewarding, and great fun! I have, and would recommend Jenn to anyone interested in deepening their practice of healing through yoga, meditation, or movement therapies" James Roby - Artisan

Over the last few decades I've woven a tapestry of healing work and beauty as a Healing Artist, Visual and Performing Artist, Dancer, Licenced Massage Therapist, Certified Yoga Teacher, and Ordained Interfaith Minister.

I have a backround in somatics (healing arts of the moving body) Yoga since 1997, (Three times Certified through the International Sivananda Yoga Center, Hatha Yoga Teacher Trainings and Yoga Therapy through the Naam Center) Theraputic Pilates since 2001, Traditional Thai Massage since 2003, and under mentorship of one of my Native American teachers I have practiced the healing form of traditional Cherokee Bodywork.

I have long term affiliation with Scapegoat Garden (a creative engine based in Contemporary Dance and Dance Theater Performance) as Board of Directors Member, Core Collaborator and Photographer. My art portfolio includes two solor photography shows and one first prize award at a juried photo show at the Art League of New Britain. I have created a Meditative Dance Practice called 'Dances of Self Reflection' in collaboration with Megan Golden, and most recently a Workshop and practice of 'Dream Dancing' that weaves together meditation, writing and dance.

As an Earth Based Interfatih Minister, I hold space for transformational threshold moments such as weddings and end of life celebrations.

I am overjoyed to offer my unique skills, talents and passions to the world. My practice weaves the moving breathing body with beauty and mindfulness. I am honored to hold meditative, creative and ceremonial spaces where time shifts and old stories become new. I love creating art, witnessing sunlight, taking mindful woods walks, creating unique ceremony, offering healing. It is a brillant path that is my authentic work in the world. My website is being updated but you can get a feel for who I am at www.sukhasala.com - Sukha means Joy and Ease, Sala is a dwelling place. I look forward to witnessing you in your walk toword more and more ease and joy.
