Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The typical process for working with a new student is to find out what the students' goals are. To help them clearly understand they are in control of what they want to accomplish by committing to the plan of action given to help them accomplish their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in Education where I taught for approximately (20) twenty years. But most importantly, I understand it is not about me, my education and/or my experience. Although, that may help. It is about understanding the individual and what challenges they may be facing that will allow me to help them see those challenges to accomplish their goals and/or dreams.

How did you get started teaching?
I knew I wanted to make a difference to one person at a time. And I started with college-level students in a private college teaching life skills. From there on, I went to Public School, teaching Elementary leve, Middle School level and so forth.
What types of students have you worked with?
A variety of students with different backgrounds, learning levels, and age.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I've had several. But the most recent is the one where the students would come back and visit me after several years of not seeing them.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would think the best thing is to have a conversation with them and establish a rapport. Hopefully, you will get a sense of one another and whether you can work together to accomplish your goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my goals? What would I like to accomplish first, then second and so forth...Am I fully committed to allow the teacher to help me to follow through with what I need to do to make it happen.
