What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The typical process for working with a new student is to find out what the students goals are. To let them know your rules. They need to understand clearly that it is going to be a win-win situation. They need to cooperate and follow the rules , and you're going to do your best to help them accomplish their goals.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a master's degree in Education where I taught for approximately 20 years. But most importantly, I have experienced  and understand how to work with an actor, dancer and/or anyone needing life coach lessons, as well as tutoring...

How did you get started teaching?

I knew I wanted to make a difference to one person at a time. And I started with college-level students in a private college teaching life skills. From there on, I went to Public School, teaching Elementary leve,  Middle School level and so forth.


What types of students have you worked with?

A variety of students with different backgrounds, learning levels, and age.


Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I've had several. But the most recent is the one where the students would come back and visit me after several years of not seeing them.


What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would think the best thing is to have a conversation with them and get a feel for them as they will for you. Hopefully,  they will and you will get a sense of one another and whether you can work together to accomplish your goals.


What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What experience does the teacher have in that particular field;  Where did they study?  What would they expect of a student and so forth.
